GDSFC Community Spirit Shines Through Glasgow Spirit Of Christmas Appeal
The Glasgow and District Sunday Football Championship (GDSFC) is proud to celebrate another successful year supporting the Glasgow Spirit of Christmas Appeal.
For the seventh consecutive year, the GDSFC community has come together to help families and children across Glasgow during the festive season. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our clubs, managers, players, referees, sponsors and supporters, the league raised over £6,500 in gifts and donations for the 2025 Christmas Appeal.
The donations included toys, footballs, pyjamas, gift sets and other essential presents, all of which were distributed to children and families within local communities across Glasgow.
What began as a small community initiative has grown into one of the league’s most meaningful annual projects, demonstrating that grassroots football can make a real difference both on and off the pitch.
The continued success of the appeal reflects the values that sit at the heart of GDSFC – community spirit, inclusion, teamwork and giving back. Every donation received will help ensure that children across the city experience the joy and excitement that Christmas should bring.
On behalf of the GDSFC Committee, we would like to thank every club, manager, player, referee, sponsor and volunteer who contributed to this year’s appeal. Your generosity and support continue to make a lasting impact on families throughout Glasgow.
Together, the GDSFC community has once again shown that football is about far more than the game itself.
