The Only Sport Sunday Amateur Trophy
The Scottish Amateur Sunday Trophy is a national competition organised by the Scottish Amateur Football Association (SAFA) for amateur Sunday-football teams affiliated to the SAFA. The trophy was introduced in 2005 to replace the former “Famous Grouse Scotch Whisky Amateur Football Trophy”.
Since then it has been held annually, with teams from across Scotland entering through regional leagues and progressing through rounds culminating in a final. Rounds are scheduled on Sundays in line with the “Sunday” nature of the contest.
Over the years the Sunday Trophy has become an established highlight of the amateur calendar, offering clubs playing on Sundays a national-cup experience and a chance at silverware beyond their local league.
